December 2001 Editorial:

What? Me? Antiwar?

For some reason--probably because most folks who used to send me hate mail still don't realize OmegaZine! has moved to this site--I have yet to be called a traitor to my country for my position that I refuse to follow the brainless herd, and because I am not a "rah-rah" type person when it comes to blindly supporting the Bush Administration in its world-wide misadventures to "snuff out" terrorism at the behest of the military-industrial complex. For one thing, I never blindly support any human being (notice I said human being--those who have corresponded with me in private know exactly Who I follow, or at least try to.)

In the last issue I think I made my position clear that someone in the government, some rogue agent or group, knew about 9-11 beforehand and did nothing to prevent it. I also implied that bin Laden should be dealt with, and it this point it really doesn't matter how. I have no problem with going into Afghanistan or anywhere else to get bin Laden and al-Qaida, because, as they invaded this country, it is the right thing to do. As a female, I don't have much trouble with the notion of getting rid of the Taliban, either (but replacing them with the equally brutal Northern Alliance--that I see a problem with!). So, there, I said it before and I've just said it again. And, no monied person I, but ANYONE, ANYONE! who calls me a traitor in public, take notice that YOU WILL BE SUED FOR SLANDER AND LIBEL, even if I put myself into debt for the rest of my life! You have been served notice!

Do I support the right to dissent? Of course! I support the First Amendment, always have and always will. Do not confuse me with those who want to legislate morality outside the home, the operative words here are outside the home; in my home is quite another story! If folks want to protest this war, fine (unlike Vietnam, however, you won't see me in any protest demonstrations. Like I said, bin Laden's people invaded this country, attacked this country, and we have a right to get them.).

Thus, though I am generally anti-war, I am going to withhold my dissent against this war until it becomes plain that anti-terrorism is NOT the goal, but it's only to take control of other countries while the perpetrators go free, and anti-terrorism is merely a pretext.

On the other hand, this war appears to be generating a growing police state in this country (do I need to reiterate that quote by Randolf Bourne that is on nearly every site I visit regularly, "War is the health of the state"?), and THAT, not the actual war, IS WHAT I AM OPPOSED TO! That's why OmegaZine! is now going to regularly post The Police-State Chronicles, adding its voice to what I hope is a rapidly growing force in trying to keep what liberties we still have in place in a time when the New World Order crowd is salivating at the thought of enslaving us completely, for good, while they keep these freedoms only for themselves. It is not only to defend the God-given Bill of Rights, but in particular to defend my right to claim Jesus Christ as my personal savior, not the Power Elite/CFR/Bilderberger/Committee of 300 thugs and their lapdogs who won't even be able to save themselves when Judgment Day comes. Those who make war for any reason than to serve their nation under God will answer to their Creator.
