At Christmas Time, the birth of Jesus the Christ is celebrated...Now it can be told...

The Man Who Would Be Christ

(Or maybe the AntiChrist)

The next millennium is nearly upon us, and with it, Y2K and, as some prophesy, the Second Coming of Christ. I've seen dates like May 5, 2000, when the planets line up, given as to the date The Messiah will return to save the faithful and punish the wicked, or the date that the AntiChrist will take over from his one-worlder hosts and wreak havoc, slavery and economic ruin.

Benjamine Creme of Share International, a magazine published in London, believes he has found the man who will not only heal the planet, do away with all the above worries, but will return as "the Christ." The man?

"He has been expected for generations by all the major religions. Christians know him as the Christ, and expect His imminent return. Jews await Him as the Messiah; Hindus look for the coming of Krishna; Buddhists expect Him as Maitreya Buddha; and Muslims anticipate the Imam Mahdi or Messiah.

"Although the names are different, many believe that they all refer to the same individual: The World Teacher, whose personal name is Maitreya (My-tray-ah)."

As the time when much of the world celebrates the birth 2,000 or so years ago of Jesus Christ, the Redeemer, draws near, it is worth taking a look at the man who, while calling himself "The Christ", may in fact be "The AntiChrist" spoken of in The Book of Revelations and referred to in 2nd Thessalonians as the bringer of God's "strong delusion."

It is not my purpose here to say Maitreya is definitely the AntiChrist. But there is no doubt in my mind he is NOT the Christ, and, using Scripture (King James Version), I will show you why he is not the Second Coming.

On Who is Maitreya? one will find Maitreya's agenda to bring peace and prosperity to Earth:

Finally, Creme's organ comes to the point: The man he calls "Lord Maitreya" has appeared before thousands "in a dream," as a figment, "or as a real physical person" in various places throughout the world since 1988. World leaders and ordinary people are "His" audience, an audience who recognizes "Him" as "the Christ," speaking to people telepathically in their own languages, then disappearing. Near these appearances "miraculous healing waters will be found."

"He" will continue to make these appearances until people begin to talk, the media takes notice, and "He" becomes universally known. On the day that happens, on a "Day of Declaration," Maitreya will be seen by all on television screens through TV Networks linked by satellites world-over. To quote the web page, "The Bible statement, 'All eyes will see Him', will be fulfilled in the only way in which it can be fulfilled." We will see "Him" and hear "Him" telepathically. "In this way, He will re-enact on a world-wide scale the true happenings of Pentecost 2,000 years ago." Miracle healings, the flow of love's energy, and a heart-felt response to "His" message will thus occur, proving "He" is "the Christ" who will help us "fulfill our destiny as Gods in incarnation," to "decide for all time whether or not the human race will continue."

Testimony and more info about Maitreya can be found at Files on Maitreya. But we do not need testimony to prove he is not The Second Coming. Anyone who has ever even just opened a Bible can see by this next Peter Liefhebber article: Jesus and Maitreya that Maitreya absolutely cannot be The Christ. Through this piece and other info, compared to Scripture, this is quite evident.

Liefhebber writes, "Jesus is not the Christ." Paraphrased, he states that Jesus is merely a disciple of Maitreya, who, 2,000 years ago, inaugerated the Age of Pisces (we are now, I suppose, in the Age of Aquarius.) The miracles of Jesus are only manifestations of his initiation into the Maitreya-led "Ascended Masters. " Jesus has been "misinterpreted" as the "only" Son of God because his "Son-of-God"-ship came at a time when Jesus was "evolving" into such, under Maitreya's leadership. Maitreya, Liefhebber writes, caused Jesus to rise from the dead. This event is confirmed in Alice H. Bailey's book, Initiation, Human and Solar, published by Lucis Publishing Co. The Apostles Peter and John (but not Paul--BD) are also Maitryea's initiates.

But Christians, be heartened. "Jesus and Maitreya the Christ," Liefhebber continues, "were (and are) one, in the sense that They, each in His own level, work together in perfect accord to further the Divine Plan."

Christians don't need Maitreya to "hearten" them. They have the Bible, God's inspired Word. And in Matthew 1: 18-25 is recorded how Jesus Christ came to be--Verse 21 states that "And she (Mary--BD) shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save people from their sins." Then in Verse 25 it says, "And (Joseph) knew (Mary) not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS." Thus is proven The Redeemer who will save mankind from sin is Jesus, not Maitreya. So, does this prove Jesus is "the Christ?" In Luke 1:31-35 it is said that Mary will bring forth a son called Jesus. "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (Verse 32) And he shall reign over the House of Jacob forever: and of his kingdom there will be no end. (Verse 33). Need more? Try Mark 1:1--"The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God." Folks, the Bible doesn't lie. God doesn't lie. Jesus is "the Christ," not Maitreya.

Now I will refute the notion that "the Christ" is merely "a teacher and guide" for people of all and no religions. I stated above that Luke Chapter 1 verse 21 says that "thou shalt call him JESUS: for he shall save people from their sins." That is EXACTLY what he will do. Jesus didn't come down merely as a teacher, though of course the disciples considered him so. He came as The Savior. John Chapter 14 verse 6 says: "Jesus saith unto him (the disciple Thomas--BD), "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." In other words, Jesus Christ is the Savior, not merely a guide or teacher.

If Maitreya is "The Christ," it means the "Christ" has come to end hunger, social injustice, bring peace, etc. This isn't what The Bible says the coming of "Christ" will bring about. Maitreya, if nothing else, is a well-meaning socialist. All of the mission he supposedly has for a humanity which is "required" to set their priorities straight is precisely the UN's mission as it comes closer to establishing and finalizing a one-world government. As if Maitreya is even needed for this!

Finally, I will quote again from Mark to set aside any doubts as to those who claim to be "the Christ": "Take heed lest any man deceive you: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet" (Mark 13: 5-7) This is Jesus Christ talking to the disciples here, and, after describing the tribulation or Armegeddon to come, he tells them (in verses 26-33): "And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds (not on TV!--BD) with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect (those who will be saved--BD) from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven...Verily I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is." It is in Revelations (Chapter 1 verse 7) where we find that "every eye shall see him." By the way, it would be impossible for every person on Earth to see Christ on TV--there are no TVs in Kalahari Bush Country, in the jungles of New Guinea, and in other parts of the world just discovered. And, as for speaking telepathically, Jesus Christ doesn't need to do this--if he can speak to John the Revelator, he can speak to all of us as well. Further, Mark, quoted above, answers the rest of the claims that Maitreya is the Christ: Humanity will NOT continue, not in the form it's in now, that is, and heaven and earth will pass on.

"...God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"

Chapter Two of the Book of Second Thessalonians written by the Apostle Paul makes it clear that before Christ comes to save the faithful and punish the wicked there will be one who comes claiming to be "above all that is called God, or that is worshipped," (Verse 4), that is, the "man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;" (verse 3) at a time that there is a "falling away" of the faithful from God/Christ. This "falling away" is happening now, as churches the world over seem to turn their backs on God's Word for the sake of money, power, and unity among the churches (emboddied by the UN body called the World Council of Churches, which is pushing for a united Church). Now is the time around which the "man of sin" could be returning (which reminds me of Daniel Chapter 7 verse 25: "And he (the AntiChrist) shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time (1 year--BD) and times (2 years--BD) and a dividing of time (1/2 year--BD)." That is, the AntiChrist will reign during the tribulation for 3 and a half years, then Christ will return to destroy him. Back to 2nd Thessalonians, Chapter Two Verses 8-12: "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

One final note: the notion that Maitreya caused Jesus to rise from the dead. This is false--why would the Son fo God need someone else to cause this? Before Jesus rose up to heaven he told Mary Magdeline "Touch me not, for I am not yet ascended to my Father." Notice Jesus did not mention Maitreya. And it's interesting to note this "fact" is published by Alice Bailey, a practicing occultist/Satanist. Lucis Publishing Company is named for Lucifer, whom God later changed his name to Satan.

Nowhere did I say Maitreya is the AntiChrist. The AntiChrist will be revealed in good time. But he is certainly in no ways "the Christ."
